The very sensitive, psychic & receptive Cancer New Moon is exact on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 3:08am. Both conscious Sun & instinctual Moon are at the same degree of 5*37 imaginative, vulnerable, subjective Cancer revealing multiple tides of FEELINGS, coming in & going out, connected to the unconscious. New Moons are a time of conception & new birth, hidden from our view as the seed grows within.
This moody water sign operates from the gut & needs to give & receive emotional warmth & security. The family (of origin or choice), the nest, home-base, even country, are especially important to those with supportive, nurturing, caring Cancer energy emphasized in their birthchart; we all have it somewhere.

Tenacious, industrious, creative Cancer, symbolized by the armored Crab, is associated with the right-brain oriented, responsive Moon…the dimensions of the inner life are absolutely important; Cancers are here to feel… which is why they need their shell for protection….to not be overwhelmed.
Just don’t allow safety to become so important that growth is inhibited by building too many impenetrable defenses. The protective & sometimes fearful crab needs to periodically break out of its hard shell in order to continue evolving.

The Cancer Sun & Moon are opposing cathartic Pluto at 12* Capricorn during this New Moon time. Transformation is definitely on the program. Powerful, intense, complex Pluto represents penetrating into the deep unconscious realms, undoubtedly magnifying what sensitive Cancer is already experiencing emotionally.
Purging, purifying Pluto’s influence, as core energy, works from inside the nucleus of whatever it touches upon (planets & signs in our case) & moves outward from the center. On many levels Pluto signifies death, destruction, breaking down, upheaval, release, cleansing, renewal, healing, creation, revitalization, regeneration, metamorphosis, transmutation & rebirth. It is our genetic evolution; Plutonian power cannot be controlled but rather focalized. Esoterically it represents returning to the Source… use your power wisely.
Assertive, fearless, enthusiastic, confident Mars, symbolizing action, is now (late Tuesday/early Wednesday June 25th) opposite intuitive, sudden, unexpected, unpredictable Uranus, changing our status quo from familiar to unfamiliar, which isn’t good or bad…it just is.
Both Mars & Uranus are also still making a challenging aspect to Pluto during this New Moon, adding to the ongoing turmoil/transformation.

Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 10:52pm, CST: our Sun at 25*58 responsible, focused, committed & organized Capricorn is 180 degrees from our lunar sphere which is at 25*58 industrious, thrifty, maternal, sensitive Cancer during this Full Moon. The exact opposition between our radiant transmitter Sun (consciousness) & our Moon, which symbolizes everything about us that is instinctual & unconscious, reveals a time of illumination & fulfillment if the positive potential of the last New Moon (Capricorn Moon of January 1st, 2014) was allowed to develop. I remember it was a very tense New Moon time & I know I did learn more about my emotional nature…always more to learn. (I’m rereading the “Four Agreements” by Ruiz)
The Moon is the natural home transmitter of water-sign Cancer so it is very powerful when in this electromagnetic field, accentuating our deepest feelings, emotional patterns/needs, our sensitivities & responsiveness. The constant flow of the subconscious Moon contains the storehouse of our home base & the nurturing we perceived/received, security issues, family (of origin or those you chose to be close to), the past, memory (including other lives?), imagination, receptiveness & psychic gut instincts; these are all associated with this Full Moon in cautious, protective, very emotional Cancer.

The calm, grounded guidance of this Full Moon’s freight train of emotions is possible… facilitating wiser choices & healthier release.
The faster moving, more personal planets, sensuous Venus (attraction, love, sociability, peacemaking, art, balance, harmony) & active Mars (desire, sexuality, courage, assertion, enthusiasm, independence) are experiencing stress/tension & an opportunity to do some rewarding “work” in relationships with a challenging square aspect between retrograde Venus at 18* Capricorn & Mars at 18* Libra. Use this strong energy to rework some relationship issue or to change some non-productive habitual way of responding to another/others, for example.

Early Monday morning, July 8, 2013, 2:15 am, CDT: We may wonder where we belong on planet Earth during this Cancer New Moon. Where are we comfortable? Are we feeling secure, safe, nurtured…who is our family? What do we call home? Our conscious Sun & unconscious Moon are both exactly 16*18 sensitive water-sign Cancer emphasizing vulnerable emotions; our reactions/responses to others & the environment (visible or invisible) is our prime focus. Psychic, receptive Cancer planets operate instinctively “from the gut”…the moodiness of the Moon in its own sign can be problematic sometimes because it is very strong…take a moment before you speak, write, send thoughts & consider what is for the highest good of all. (message to self…I have 2 transmitters in Cancer)

POTENT Full Moon: Friday, December 28th, 2012, 4:22 am, CST; we have a Full Moon at 7* receptive, protective Cancer (the Moon is at home in this sign, so a very emotional time is indicated) exactly opposite the Sun at 7* purposeful, enterprising Capricorn. This monthly aspect of the two Luminaries in our solar system reflects an opposition of contrasts between watery, sensitive Cancer & earthy, practical, ambitious Capricorn. Both are cardinal signs representing energy that sets things in motion & creates… operating on pure impulse or instinct…as young children do.
Snow Spots
Imaginative Cancer, associated with the Moon, manifests as sensitive, intuitive, psychic, sympathetic, emotional & feeling-oriented, moody (the Moon changes signs every 2 & 1/2 days), nurturing, gentle, vulnerable, sustaining, tenacious, security conscious & oriented toward the past (Moon stores past memories, etc.) There will also be episodes of defensiveness, hypersensitivity, insecurity, fearfulness & timidity.

Undoubtedly more Light will be shed on our underworlds or unconscious depths, or hidden material, or secretive areas, or anything toxic in our systems. Pluto’s job description says “break down, purge, release, let go, cleanse, forgive, renew, regenerate & facilitate rebirth.” Could be quite an emotional Full Moon….then there’s the infamous unpredictable Uranus in a challenging 90* aspect (square) to intense Pluto which is activated from both Sun & Moon on the 28th!!???!!!
The 3rd of 7 exact squares between these two outer transmitters occurs on May 21st, 2013 with Uranus at 11*14 Aries & Pluto at 11*14 Capricorn. This is part of a larger, on-going evolutionary process that every sentient being including Earth are taking part in..see sidebar for more info on Uranus-Pluto.

Paradise
Wednesday, July 18th, 2012, at 11:25 pm, CDT: the imaginative, sensitive, nurturing, protective Cancer New Moon could present us with explosive energies due to the accompanying challenging aspects of the trigger action planet Mars with two of the Trans-Saturnian planets, Uranus & Pluto. These two operate as forces of evolutionary change & of the Collective Unconscious as they draw in & process cosmic influences from beyond our Solar System. But first…
A New Moon is a time of new beginnings, although not always noticeable on the surface of things. It’s the Moon phase of conception, new birth, & soon to emerge freshness in some area(s) of life. Thank goddess for that!
With both conscious Sun & unconscious Moon at the exact same degree of 27* creative, water-sign Cancer, we can count on our emotions to be activated even more than usual now…intensely so, considering the above mentioned planetary aspects which I’ll cover in a moment.
Psychic Cancer represents the part of us that says “I feel”; it’s associated with the changeable Moon which travels through the 12 signs every 2 1/2 days (thus the moodiness)… emphasizing the flowing emotional nature & the predominantly active instinctual behavior. The crab has a hard shell to protect its soft, vulnerable & sensitive insides. Cancer issues of home, family (either of origin or your own idea of family) & security needs are hardwired into the deepest subconscious patterns of us Earthlings. Eventually we learn that our Family is the Human Race itself.
Storm Moving In
On Wednesday, July 18th this strong emotional energy bouncing around is accentuated by the faster-moving self-projection of brave, assertive, warrior Mars at 8*33 Libra (relationships) which makes an exact opposition to the liberating, radical disruptor Uranus at 8*32 Aries possibly resulting in impulsive confrontations. Uranus symbolizes the freedom urge, the unknown, the unexpected & revolution…it suddenly changes the old in order to allow room for the new. Self-directed Mars (natural ruler of Aries) typically does not hold back..this is the transmitter of courage, aggressiveness, conquest, resistance, accomplishment, sexuality, passion & at its most extreme, violence & war. This opposition aspect has a potent capacity to initiate change, assert self to remove restrictive, inhibiting conditions, bringing freedom & independence. Either way, suppressing the Mars energy completely is not healthy. Find a constructive channel for anger if you feel it because we can’t just wish it away. These are very powerful frequencies we’re dealing with now.
The raw energy of Mars is also making a 90* tense, challenging aspect on Tuesday the 17th, to Pluto, god of the Underworld, at 7*47 Capricorn during this Cancer New Moon, although we are feeling the intensity for days before & after. The highly energetic qualities of Mars are tangling with heavy-duty Pluto, transmitter of birth, death & rebirth on all levels, physical, emotional, mental, psychological, spiritual. Pluto dredges old stuff up from our unconscious. We need to let go of old emotions that are clogging our systems, for instance..self-empowerment is more desirable than power struggles, control issues, manipulation,etc….the past has conditioned us long enough and now its time to move onward & upward.
There are other planetary aspects which may lessen the harsh manifestations of this drama somewhat. I will focus on peace, harmony, love & non-resistance.

Backtracking: July 12: unpredictable, radical Uranus at 8*32 active, assertive Aries turned Retrograde (apparent backward movement) until December 13th, 2012 when it turns Direct at 4*37 Aries. Hard to interpret this but it is a factor.
July 14th: communicator Mercury at 13* fiery, flamboyant Leo turns Retrograde through August 7/8th, 2012 when it turns Direct at 1* Leo. This reverse motion can reflect confusion, delays, & breakdowns in the world of communications, technology & mobility; the routines of daily life are bound to be altered.
